Overview
FoodRush is a concept food delivery application created for a small start up. The purpose was to help parents find restaurant that had foods for children with different allergies and food preferences. I conducted in person interviews with potential users to gain a deeper understanding of what challenges they faced with attempting to order from restaurants with child who have potentially life- threatening food allergies.
Research & Challenges
I interviewed 8 parents with children ages ranging from 2 - 16 years old. From those interviews, I developed 1 user persona. The ideal user for this product is busy mother, comfortable with utilizing technology who has decided to eat healthier. During the wire framing process, I encountered the challenge of having to much content which resulted in crammed screens and small buttons. My initial design appeared too text heavy and would be overwhelming for the user.
Final Design
I finally decided on a minimalist approach for the overall design of the app. In lieu of text, I opted for images that would signal the user to conduct an action. I choose a soft red color, due to its hungry invoking properties. The initial screen allows returning users to login or new users can create an account. From there, the user is taken to their profile page where the user can manage preferences The final screen is a filter and search option where the user can search for restaurants based on price range or category.
